Especially in the special conditions of high temperature, corrosion, insulation, vacuum, chemical industry, etc., it has good performance.
Ceramic ball bearing is a typical application of engineering ceramics in the industrial market, with main performance advantages:
(1) High temperature resistance
The thermal expansion coefficient of ceramic ball rolling element is small, and it will not expand under high temperature environment. Therefore, the ceramic ball can reach more than 220 degrees, while the common bearing can bear only about 160 degrees
(2) High speed
The friction coefficient of ceramic ball ceramic ball is small, and it can even work without oil for a short time. Therefore, it can bring high speed, which can reach 1.5 times of the speed of ordinary bearings.
(3) Long service life
Ceramic ball can avoid premature bearing damage caused by grease drying. Therefore, it is more durable. The data shows that the service life of ceramic ball bearings can reach 2-3 times of that of ordinary bearings.
(4) Insulation
The ceramic ball is an insulator, and the inner and outer rings of the bearing can achieve the insulation effect, which can meet the needs of use in the conductive environment.
Ferrules and rolling elements are the necessary factors of ceramic ball bearings. Ceramic ball materials usually include zirconia (ZRO2) and silicon nitride (SI3N4); Ferrule materials are usually bearing steel (GCR1), stainless steel (440, 440C) and stainless steel (304, 316, 316L) according to different conditions such as speed, load and temperature.
The rolling element is made of ceramic material, while the ring is made of other materials. It is called hybrid ceramic ball bearing. It is widely used in high-speed precision bearings. It is assembled on high-speed main shaft. Compared with other bearings, it has the advantages of high speed, high stiffness, high power and long life.
